June Concerts at PAC
By Mary Adair Trumbly
Bluegrass, Retro Rock and Broadway in June. Be sure to get your tickets now for these three concerts. Ticket sales have been robust.
Bluegrass is up first, with the 8:00 P.M. Sunday, June 16, Highlands debut of the internationally-acclaimed fiddler Mark O’Connor and The Mark O’Connor Band.
Mark O’Connor Band’s very first performance took place in 2015. In 2017 – less than a year and a half later – they took home the Grammy Award for Best Bluegrass Album for their debut recording, “Coming Home.”
Returning by popular demand on Friday and Saturday, June 21 and 22, is “Travis LeDoyt: A Tribute to The King.” Travis performed here in 2016 for two sold out concerts (with waiting lists.) The biggest compliment LeDoyt has received came from D. J. Fontana who was Elvis Presley’s drummer in the 50s who said, “This is as close as you’ll get to seeing a concert by Elvis Presley in the early years.”
Broadway hits the stage on Saturday, June 29, with the hilarious “Broadway’s Next Hit Musical,” the only unscripted theatrical awards show. Master improvisers gather made-up song titles from the audience as they enter the theater and then they create a spontaneous evening of music, humor, and laughter using those song titles.
