First Presbyterian Church of Highlands will launch its 2019 Interlude Concert Series with a 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 10, performance of “Ransom Notes” by Violinist Kate Ransom and her brother, Pianist William Ransom. Ms. Ransom is the President of the Music School of Delaware and has been a favorite performer at the Highlands-Cashiers Chamber Music Festival. William Ransom is the Mary Emerson Professor of Piano at Emory University and the director of the Emory Chamber Music Society of Atlanta. He’s also the Artistic Director of the Highlands-Cashiers Chamber Music Festival.
The Ransoms’ performance is co-sponsored by the church and the Highlands-Cashiers Chamber Music Festival.
The church’s Wednesday, July 24, Interlude Concert, set for 2:00 P.M., features The Trey Clegg Chamber Singers.
Founded by Trey Clegg, the Chamber Singers is a group of 20 voices from among the 70 voices of the Trey Clegg Singers, Inc., Atlanta’s premier multi-cultural choral ensemble. With a mission to inspire the passion for reconciliation, equity, and harmony, this selectively auditioned ensemble performs at the highest level of choral discipline and standards.
There is no admission charge for the Interlude concerts, which constitute a ministry in music to the community. Dress is casual, come as you are.
First Presbyterian Church is located at the corner of Main and Fifth Streets. Handicapped accessible entrances are located on Church Street and on Fifth Street.
