The Highlands Chamber of Commerce pauses each Fall to celebrate our Highlands Heroes at Autumn Ovation.
Chamber members and their guests celebrated on November 12 at Four65 Bistro and Bar. It was a sensational happening with great food, excellent company, and an inspiring program recognizing outstanding businesses and persons of Highlands’ community.
For outstanding community service, the Robert B. Dupree award is bestowed upon a person or group who devotes their service to positively impact the lives of others on the Highlands Plateau. Nominees are residents and businesses who have demonstrated outstanding community service and represent the spirit of giving. Highlands Chamber of Commerce bestowed the honors to Highlands Cashiers Health Foundation for the foundation’s efforts to improve the health and well-being on the Plateau and surrounding area.
The Outstanding Local Business Del Roberts Award is in honor of Del Roberts, previous owner of The Christmas Tree and former Chamber Board Member. It was created to honor a business’s unselfish contribution to the community. This season, The Town of Highlands was presented with this distinguished prize for their service to residents and support and hospitality to visitors.
The Volunteer of the Year, Duke Power Award, recognizes and rewards “leadership and involvement in volunteerism and community service.” Lisa Leatherman, Duke Power’s Local Government and Communications Manager, took delight in acknowledging Steve Mehder for his leadership and generous service to Highlands.
Join the Chamber in congratulating our Highlands Heroes for their outstanding contributions.
