Festival Favorites & Premier Performers

The world’s greatest music meets world-class musicians on the cool and vibrant Plateau for the 38th season of the Highlands-Cashiers Chamber Music Festival. The splendor begins on July 5th and 6th with Opening Gala concerts and receptions featuring the chamber music of George Gershwin. Concerts throughout the season are held in Highlands on Friday and Sunday evenings at the Performing Arts Center and in Cashiers on Saturday and Monday evenings at the Albert Carlton Library. Programs will include “Mozart in the Mountains,” “Quint-Essential,” “Jazz Meets Classics: Impressions and Reflections,” “Anything You Can Do…” and “Dynamic Duo.”
This season will feature a sublime blend of Festival favorites and premier performers. Returning artists include violinist Philippe Quint with cellist Ani Aznavoorian and pianist Elizabeth Pridgen; the Gary Motley Trio; pianists Victor Asuncion and Fei-Fei; cellists Sara Sant’Ambrogio and Charae Krueger; the Vega Quartet; tenor Bradley Howard; violist Julianne Lee; and siblings David and Julie Coucheron and William and Kate Ransom.
The Armida String Quartet, Norman Krieger, Robyn Bollinger, the Solera String Quartet, Scott Rawls and Marci Gurnow will be making their first Festival appearances.
The Final Gala of the season on August 11th offers something new entitled “Beethoven, Bailey and a Big Band” featuring masterpieces of the Swing Era with Grammy Award-winning cellist Zuill Bailey and the Joe Gransden Big Band.
Interwoven among the concerts will be Festival Feasts and Salons, an Interlude Concert and the popular Family Concert and Ice Cream Social.
